4 Months Old

With a little bit of warmer weather and Layton being 4 months we have had a lot of new things happen.  First, Layton got to go on his first stroller walk.  He loved it! He just sat there the entire time not making a peep and taking in everything around him.  He enjoyed watching the dogs walking in front of him and coming up to sniff him now and again.  It was still a bit chilly, but he enjoyed being outside.

At Layton's 4 month appointment he measured 12 lbs 9 oz and 25 3/4 inches.  His weight is still in the 15% and didn't change from his 2 month check up.  His length is in the 80% and is way up from his 2 months and his head is also still at 3%.  It's still crazy to think he is 4 months old already! WOW! Layton's favorite things are: laughing, playing with his play mat, chewing on everything, eating, he still loves getting his diaper changed, trying to talk, hearing himself scream (for some reason he has been doing this a lot lately) and his Dad's favorite... his new love of watching basketball!  We discovered this during March Madness.  Layton would be playing with something until the game came on and then he would stop everything and watch the game until commercials before going to back to his toy.  It was the funniest thing.  He wouldn't even take his bottle unless he was positioned so he could watch the game as he ate.  Definitely his father's son!

And of course with being 4 months comes getting to eat rice cereal and starting his veggies and fruits.  Layton LOVES to eat his big boy food! I was so surprised how well he did the first time.  The Dr. told me it would mostly be a learning experience the first few times, but he caught right on and has no problems eating it.  We have done the rice for a week now and tonight he actually had his first veggie: carrots.

Tummy Anyone?

Right now if you want to hear one of the cutest laughs in the world you have to tickle Layton's tummy!  He loves it when you blow on, kiss or tickle his tummy.  When you pull up his shirt he knows its coming and starts to squil.  Last night I was getting him ready for bed and decided to tickle him.  He was laughing so hard he started screaming really high and then just started giggling.  His legs were kicking and had the biggest grin on his face.  We need to see if our video camera works so we can get it on video, its too cute to not remember!

Layton's Blessing

Yesterday we were able to bless Layton despite our family getting sick the day before.  It was a very tiring day but it was great! Thanks to all those who came and took the risk of getting sick. Thanks to everyone who helped us the entire weekend as well! We have the best family and am so greatful for all that you guys do to help us.

3 Months Old

We can't believe Layton is 3 months old! He is getting so big and has been so much fun.  His favorite things right now are his bottle, bouncer, hands in his mouth, being tickled, having his bum changed and then being bare for awhile, showering with Daddy, being talked to, sticking his toungue out, cooing, standing, sitting up, stretching, kicking his legs, and running in place.

Last night we had a big milestone... Layton SLEPT ALL NIGHT!!! He went to bed about 10:30 and didn't wake up until 7:30! Waking up and realizing he hadn't been up all night actually made me nervous.  He normally gets up at 7, so I was waiting until then before I checked on him.  After about 7:05 I couldn't handle it anymore and had to go check on him.  Of course he was fine and so I went back to bed.  Right as I started to fall back to sleep, he woke up.  Luckily he took a nap with me after about an hour of playing.

Layton Kendall

Layton is here! Sorry it took us so long to post some pictures.  We are just so happy that he is here, healthy, and such a sweet little boy.  Layton was born at 2:45 am on Wednesday, November 25th.  We were able to leave the hospital the next day at noon.  After a 2 minute stop at our house to grab a diaper bag we went out to my parents (Findlays) for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a very long day, but we were happy to be out of the hospital.

Our little family right after Layton was born.

After all the pocking and measuring he was finally able to rest.

All bundled up ready to go to Grandma & Grandpa's.

Happy boy after his first bath at home!

2 years and counting!

Happy anniversary honey! This is my (Kendall) first post, and i thought what better time to do it than on our anniversary. I just wanted to take a moment to tell everyone how happy and blessed i am to have such a wonderful wife! She puts up with soooo much from me. She endures my endless teasing and can even tell me she loves me with a straight face every night! I am extremly excited to be a father, but even more excited for Kirsti to be a mother. I know she will be terrific! She has already had 2 years experience dealing with a child, however this one may be a little smaller. I love you so much and give thanks everyday that you are in my life. I just thought i would let everyone know how special you are to me, even though i don't outwardly show it very well. I hope you can continue to put up with me and that i have brought you at least a fraction of the happiness you have brought me over the past 2 years. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Wiggle Worm

The last few weeks have been especially fun with Layton moving around in my tummy. Kendall has been able to feel him better and know when it's him vs. my breathing. Last night Layton wouldn't sit still. Right after Kendall fell asleep I had to wake him up to have him feel Layton. As we would move our hand or fingers across my tummy, Layton would follow with his foot or hand. It was really fun to have a little more interaction with him other than just feel him move. We are anxiously counting down the days, and hope that because he his measuring 2 weeks early he will come 1 week early so he isn't close to Christmas. I guess we will see...

20 week appointment

We had our 20 week appointment last week and are happy to confirm that Layton is still a boy! He made it pretty clear what he was. He was wiggling all over the place and always found a way to show us his rear end no matter what angle we were looking from! The nurse was laughing telling us we better get ready because he is going to be a very active child! It was really neat to be able to see his stomach, heart, lungs, brain... they pretty much show us everything. Of course we can't tell anything, but from what see said, he looks pretty healthy. Our Dr. was out of town and so he will review everything once he is back and let us know if there is anything to be concerned about. I'm pretty sure he is healthy as a horse! Below is a 3D picture of Layton's face. We have 3 photos like this one and also a video of the ultrasound. It is neat to already see some of his features. Kendall and I have decided that he mostly looks like his Dad. He has my round nose and big lips and the rest is all Kendall! Kendall just says, "he's cute, of course he looks like me"! I'm just happy to see that he has all of his fingers and all of this toes! And best of all... I'm halfway there!!! YEAH!

Hugh and Haven visit

My brother Brock, his wife Rachael and their oldest son Cordon went on a river rafting trip from Sunday to Friday. My mother and I picked up their two year old twins last Saturday to watch them for the week. I had Wednesday and Thursday off work so I had the twins those 2 days. Well Kendall and Butch went with his dad, brothers and nephew backpacking on Wednesday until Saturday, leaving me and Roxi home alone. Despite Haven peeing on me and Hugh peeing all over my floor, TWICE it was a lot of fun! On Thursday my Aunt Linda took my Grandpa Findlay to his cancer treatment and while waiting for him she stopped by with lunch for the twins and I. After lunch we packed the kids in the car and headed over to see my Grandpa. He seemed pretty excited to see the twins. He even took them for a ride back to the car on his walker. Hugh doesn't look too happy in this picture but it is only because the sun was in his eyes. They loved the ride on the walker and of course started crying when we had to take them off and put them back in the car. It was a long week with Kendall gone, but I am sure glad I had the twins to help with the time. They were so fun to have!

Baby Jaussi is a...

BOY!!! We have decided on Layton Kendall Jaussi. I was going to put on his "deciding" picture, but then realized that most of the people who have seen it can't even tell where the baby is. This was our most exciting and enjoyable ultrasound. Layton was moving his hands and head all over the place. In this picture he was moving his fingers looking at his hand until he shoved his thumb in his mouth. It was pretty neat. When they were looking to see if he was a boy or girl, he wouldn't move. We had to push on him and make him move his rear end. He didn't seem to like that very much. The funniest part was while we were looking through his legs you could see his head bobbing around and then all of a sudden his hand started waving through his legs! We are just very happy to see that he is growing and the Dr's all think he looks healthy.

Baby Update

Sorry it took me so long to update after our last appointment. Here is the baby at our 12 week appointment. I am now 15 weeks. It actually looks like a baby! We were both expecting to see something similar to the last photo, and so when the baby showed up on the screen we were both blown away with how big it's getting. The Dr. said we would notice a big difference in size, but I guess we really weren't sure what to expect. It's just so neat to know that our baby is doing well, the heartbeat is strong, and they think it looks very healthy. As of right now we don't find out what we are having until the last wednesday in July! We are thinking about finding out earlier; if we do, we will be sure to let everyone know.

Baby Jaussi

Kendall & I would like everyone to see our new little addition! We are happy to announce that we are 8 weeks pregnant and this is one of the pictures from our first ultrasound yesterday. Our due date is December 9, 2009. We are considered high risk so we were able to have this appointment at 8 weeks to confirm the pregnancy and will have our regular 12 week appointment at the end of May. No worries though, the Dr. said we have one healthy baby! We are really anxious to see how much the baby will grow in 4 weeks time. The Dr. said there will be a pretty noticeable difference. Right now our baby is about the size of a hot tamale! It was so neat to see the little heart beating like crazy!! It took a long time for this to happen, but we couldn't be happier! We are thankful for the family prayers that were in our behalf and are so thankful to our Heavenly Father for allowing us this opportunity.

overdue

Sorry we haven't updated our blog in such a long time. Our camera hasn't been working and so I haven't been able to put up some pictures of the random things we have been doing. A quick update... the pigs have a new home out at mom and dad Findlay's. It doesn't look like they will be there for long though, they are both getting pretty big and about time to butcher! Butch and Roxi are getting excited about the warm weather. They love it when they can be out in the dirt and in the sun. I have some pictures of them I have been dying to show, so hopefully I can get the camera working. Kendall is pretty excited about the warm weather as well. We were able to buy a windshield for his motorcycle and he has been itching to drive it ever sense. Tonight was the first day it was warm enough, so Kendall took me on a ride out to feed the pigs. It was a little cold with the wind, but it felt great to be on the bike again. Summer can't come quick enough for our family!!

the two men in my life

regardless of what i say, kendall insists on having butch "cuddle" up with him on the couch. with the stove being as warm as it is in the living room it works as a tranquilizer for the dogs. it looks like it worked on kendall as well!

temple square

last weekend we went to temple square with kendall's brother's family. we met jason, nicole and their kids at the gateway and ate dinner at tucanos. we were really impressed with mckade. he actually enjoyed a lot of food we didn't think he would. he ate chicken hearts and liked them! gage spent a lot of the time feeding kendall and "frying" up some bannana bacon. it was pretty funny. after dinner we road tracks to temple square. the lights looked great as usually. it was so neat to see so many people gathering to see the nativity scene and also the christos. those few moments we had in front of the christos to ponder on the life of our savior was the only time when it was quite. it was a great opportunity to take a few moments in such a large crowd to think of our savior. i couldn't help but think of our sunday school class and how they just light up when they see the picture of the christos. their pure love for christ is so amazing to me and such a strength to my testimony. i am so grateful for this time of year! we really enjoyed our weekend with jason and nicole and were glad that we could also stop and see mark, bryson and brindy. it is great that they live so close to eachother and are in the same ward!

many of you have already seen our pigs because we are slow at getting pictures taken, but our pigs are finally here! we decided that if we named them fat names they would get really big and fat! the all black one is named tubbs and the one with the pink "collar" is named porky.

This is tubbs after he was eating his sour cream and cottage cheese!

our first fire!!!

we just decided one day that we would put in a wood burning stove. the idea came from me just mentioning that my parents had a stove they wanted to get rid of. kendall said let's do it and started making the plans before he even looked at the stove or had any idea if it would even fit in our little house! well.... he went and measured it, hauled it to our house, and started "playing" with the wall he wanted it to go on. much to our surprise there was a chimney behind the plaster wall!!! now for a little history on our house, it is very old! the chimney is actually from the coal bin that is in our basement that was once used to heat this house. so... we decided to chip out some of the brick to see how much room we would have because this changed our whole plan of how to make the stove fit. so long story short, our furnace pipe had been put through the chimney so we had to re-route that (behind the wall and into the hallway) so we could fit the stove and use the chimney for the stove pipe. we have worked on it only a few days here and there when we have had the time and with much help from dad jaussi we are just about done. kendall and i positioned it on the platform tonight and started our first fire!! here was the progress. THANKS MOM & DAD FINDLAY FOR THE STOVE AND THANKS DAD JAUSSI FOR ALL THE HELP WITH THE STOVE AND GETTING OUR HOUSE DIRTY WITH COAL :) !!
