kendall had his surgery
the day finally came for kendall. he couldn't wait to get his surgery and start the healing process... only because he can't wait to play basketball again. we had to be at the hospital at 8:30 wednesday morning. he had already done his paperwork so we just had to wait for them to take him. the surgeon was ahead of schedule so it didn't take very long. i was told to be back in about an hour so the surgeon could talk to me and show me the pictures. i ran home to take roxi to the vet to get her stitches taken out and then back home again to drop her off. once i got back to the hospital it was just over an hour. the surgeon basically followed me into his room and then spent about 10 mins showing me everything and giving me his instructions for kendall. i waited maybe 20 mins and kendall came rolling in. he was already asking to use the bathroom. the two nurses just looked at me funny and said "we don't normally let you go just yet". kendall just told them again that he really needed to go. the RN questioned him a few times about being ready and then we helped him up and into the bathroom. i think he only said it was okay because the bathroom was right across the hall (plus he probably didn't want to clean up the mess!). once we got back to the room the RN couldn't believe how well he was doing, so he set him up in the recliner and looked at his vitals. they were already back to normal. he kind of laughed and said "well it looks like you are ready to go home. you have already paid for the hour so lets be patient and wait a bit longer". he just kept telling us how he has never seen anyone come out of surgery so quickly. kendall is pretty proud of himself because he has just set a new record! the RN told us that he has never released anyone with 16's all across the board, let alone 10 mins after coming out of surgery. (only kendall can turn surgery into a competition!) as we have found, kendalls high tolerance for anesthetics is both a blessing and a course. his so called block (man epidural) that was supposed to last 18 hours really only lasted 3. we were home at 12:00 and in pain at 1:30. he is doing good now, but if it weren't for the cryo cuff he would probably still be in some pain. i just can't wait until i get to use it, that's my one perk of his surgery!

Kendall your the man. Hope you get feeling better fast
Kendall, you didn't tell me about the cryo cuff. What's that???
Glad you're recovering quickly. The boat is calling!
the cryo cuff is basically a cold pack. it has a cooler you fill with water and ice that pumps it through the brace. it's pretty nice. it stays really cold and the brace helps give support as well.
Get Well Soon Kendall!!! We are glad you are doing so well. I guess we will have to take care of your motorcycle while you recover.
yeah, we have had a lot of offers for that one! we just like to see it and sit on it everyday!
you bet Kennedy is getting Cooper's bald head!!!! It is not as bad...yet...she still has a little fuzz on top:) but everytime I wash it or put lotion on it I have hair all over my hands from her head.
